In de voorjaarsvakantie organiseert het Mondriaanhuis kinderworkshop ‘Zet de molen in de voorjaarszon!’
Op 18 februari zetten kinderen in het Mondriaanhuis ‘de molen’ in het zonnetje. Geïnspireerd op Piet Mondriaan die in 1908 ‘Molen bij zonlicht’ schilderde. Als je naar het schilderij kijkt zie je dat Piet de de molen een hele andere kleur heeft gegeven dan die in werkelijkheid heeft. Toen het schilderij werd tentoongesteld zeiden de mensen: ‘Het lijkt wel of de molen in brand staat!’
Pete set out to explore how to show the effect of sunlight in the best possible way. In this workshop, the children used their own creativity to capture sunlight in the best possible way.
The children start with the sample plate of Mondrian's mill and start drawing the mill on the canvas with coloured wasco. Only the most important lines at first, because after that we will paint. In small coloured strokes, yellow, red and dark blue, they will put their own mill in the spotlight!
Just good to know: unfortunately we cannot exhibit the real painting 'Mill in sunlight', but we do have other paintings by Mondrian showing a mill. During a short 15-minute guided tour, the theme is explained and inspiration gained. After that, the kids get to work.
