March 7 marks the 150th anniversary of Piet Mondrian's birth in Amersfoort. The Mondrian House will celebrate this extensively, kicking off with a painting competition with the theme 'Guts'.
The competition's assignment is: be inspired by the theme 'Guts'. During his career, Piet Mondrian painted various subjects in a variety of styles, from figurative landscapes, flowers and portraits to the famous abstract compositions with primary colours. Mondrian had guts and dared to go off the beaten track.
You can decide entirely which style or aspect of Mondrian you are inspired by. Only condition is that it fits on a 24 x 30 cm canvas.
