Would you like to know more about the work of John Konijn? Then come to the Mondrian House on Friday 20 August to meet the painter.
John Konijn's work is currently on display at the Mondrian House as part of the exhibition Ode to the Landscape. This exhibition brings together landscapes by Piet Mondrian with the work of contemporary artists.
For John Konijn, painting is a way of keeping a grip on the confusing world we live in. Landscape is an important theme for him, both rural and urban. When he had a studio overlooking the river Eem, the painter made an entire series of the landscape he saw from his window. A painting from that series in now on display at the Mondrian House, along with several other works by his hand.
