Retrieved from zondag 8 februari Annabel Goedhart, Esser curator and researcher, will take you through her research into the inspired personality and the art in his impressive collection.
During the tours, you will learn more about these works, but especially about the doctor Esser's special relationship with the young generation of artists residing in Amsterdam at the beginning of the last century. Esser's eventful life is also widely covered. Using amusing, but also painful anecdotes, the curator sketches a picture of an intelligent and colourful personality who was a jack-of-all-trades. Someone who had guts and did not shy away from risks in many respects. Someone who managed to achieve a lot through his boundless energy, but who eventually fell into oblivion.
