In conversation with Piet Mondrian

On 24 April, Theo de Mare steps into the shoes of Piet Mondrian. We will see the world-famous painter at work in his New York studio. The audience can ask him questions.

Want to see Piet Mondrian at work up close? You can on Sunday 24 April. Then Theo de Mare will step into the shoes of the Amersfoort-born artist. He will then play the role of the 71-year-old painter at work in his New York studio in April 1943, a year before his death. The audience will have a chance to ask questions to the painter. After a short break, there will be a conversation about Piet Mondrian based on four stimulating statements.

Theo de Mare graduated as an (art) philosopher in 1982 with an essay on works by Piet Mondrian. Professor Hans Jaffé (1915-1984), known for his dissertation on De Stijl 1917-1931, was his tutor.
