Want to learn all about Mondrian? Because of the celebration of the 150th year of the painter's birth, Volksuniversiteit Amersfoort, in cooperation with the Mondriaanhuis, is organising the lecture 150 years Mondrian.
In 2022, it will be 150 years since Piet Mondrian was born in Amersfoort. He would go on to become one of the greatest abstract artists of the 20th century. On 8 March, art historian Diana Kostman will tell the story of Mondrian's life, focusing on the artist's artistic development, followed by a guided tour of the Mondrian House.
Diana Kostman studied Art History and General Cultural Studies at the University of Amsterdam. She specialised in modern art and wrote her doctoral thesis on American Pop Art. However, her interests and expertise span all of art history. Since 2006, she has been teaching art history courses on various topics with great enthusiasm and professionalism. She also writes texts for artists, is a member of Blaricum's art committee and a board member of the artists' union AKKV.
