Lecture Mondrian and WWII = CANCELLED

As part of the celebration of 75 years of freedom, the Mondrian House is organising the lecture Mondrian and WWII in cooperation with Volksuniversiteit Amersfoort. The speaker is art historian Diana Kostman.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to measures to combat covid-19, Volksuniversiteit Amersfoort has cancelled all lectures in spring 2021. It is possible that the lecture 'Mondrian and WWII' will still be organised next autumn.

Diana Kostman recounts Mondrian's life in a turbulent time, which saw two world wars. Faced with Nazi Germany's idea of 'Entartete kunst', Mondrian was forced to flee Europe. In the freedom of the new world, Mondrian eventually creates his masterpiece: Victory Boogie Woogie.

The lecture will be followed by a tour of the Mondrian House, focusing on the presentation on Mondrian and World War II.

Diana Kostman specialises in modern art and wrote her doctoral thesis on American Pop Art. However, her interests and expertise encompass all of art history. Since 2006, she has taught art history courses on various topics with great enthusiasm and professionalism. She also writes texts for artists, is a member of Blaricum's art committee and a board member of the artists' union AKKV.

You can register for the lecture plus tour via the website of Volksuniversiteit Amersfoort (Note: lecture cancelled).
