Meeting with Bob Negryn

Would you like to know more about Bob Negryn's work? Then come to the Mondrian House on Saturday 27 November from 2.30pm for a meeting with the visual artist-photographer.

The work of Bob Negryn is currently on display at the Mondrian House in the exhibition BlOeM! at Bob Negryn. In this exhibition, we see a fine selection of Negryn's fascinating floral compositions.

Bob Negryn (Delft, 1961) made several photographic genres his own: landscapes, portraits and still lifes. In doing so, he couples his outlook as a visual artist with the technical baggage of a professional photographer. Over the years, Negryn's work - in addition to photography, he was also involved in painting in the past - has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions.

The Mondrian House selected several works from Negryn's flower series. For over a decade, the artist has been fascinated by flowers. In all stages of growth, flowering and decay. He consciously plays with light in his photographs, making the beauty of the flower more emphatic. What is also striking is that the flowers are placed in plastic bottles. It gives the whole thing a somewhat surrealistic feel. "The provocative beauty of tulips and plastic bottles takes us out of our daily grind. So we can celebrate life," Negryn herself says about it.
