Meeting with Suus Kooijman

Would you like to know more about Suus Kooijman's work? Then come to the Mondrian House on Saturday 11 September to meet the artist.

Suus Kooijman's work is currently on display at the Mondrian House as part of the exhibition Ode to the Landscape. This exhibition brings together landscapes by Piet Mondrian with the work of contemporary artists.

Suus Kooijman uses an ancient technique involving wax and pigments (encaustic) for her work. The material is applied to panels of wood. The landscapes created under her hands are intriguing because they are revealing and concealing at the same time. Much is left to the viewer's gaze. Kooijman made a series focusing on the Eem in Amersfoort. A selection from this series is currently on show at the Mondrian House.
