Want to broaden your knowledge of Modern Art? This autumn, KLU - Art History Courses is hosting the 'Modern Art' course at the Mondrian House. In six lessons, you will learn to know and recognise the various art movements that emerged at the beginning of the last century.
In the Modern Art course, you will dive into the exciting and experimental time at the beginning of the 20th century, when new developments followed each other in rapid succession and art changed dramatically .
You will learn about the different movements of the period and what their main characteristics are.
The course starts with early-century expressionism and ends with today's postmodernism. All intermediate -isms and movements will pass by: cubism, futurism, Dadaism, De Stijl, suprematism, abstract expressionism, but also Pop art, video art and conceptual art. By the end of the course, you will know them all and know the distinctions!
Dates and times
The programme starts every Monday at 1.30pm at the Mondrian House and lasts until 3.30pm.
