MBO students can follow an interactive teaching programme in which they are introduced to Mondrian and develop their own creative skills.
If anyone knew how to reinvent himself, it was Piet Mondrian (1872-1944). Until the end of his life, the Amersfoort-born artist kept renewing himself. Time and again, he broke new ground. Piet was eager to learn and possessed a boundless curiosity for new developments, even outside the visual arts. His exceptional characteristics and qualities brought him to great heights.
Interactive teaching programme
In 2022, Pete's 150th year of birth will be celebrated extensively. Under the title Festival of Imagination numerous activities are planned. In addition, MBO students in the 2021-22 academic year will be able to follow an interactive teaching programme specially developed for them: The new Mondrian. It tells the story of the famous artist: who was he, what drove him and how did Pete become such an innovator?
At the same time, students learn to further develop their own creative skills through creative and challenging group assignments. After all, who better to teach them about this than Piet Mondrian? Creative thinking is one of the '21st-century - skills' at the heart of these students' curriculum.
The Mondrian House Amersfoort developed the teaching programme 'The new Mondrian' together with AimAtArt. This project is supported by Villa Mondrian.
