The seven compositions - in very different styles - will be performed by the musicians of the Keuris Ensemble. This Ensemble is a flexible contemporary ensemble mainly used to work with composers on their new compositions. For many years, it has been working for the Faculty of Music and Technology at HKU Utrecht.
On 19 November, the ensemble consists of: Egbert-Jan Louwerse (flute), Maria Du Toit (clarinet), Lis Perry (violin), Matthias Nagele (cello) and Henry Kelder (piano).

Concert Unlimited is organised by Foundation Hawk Concerts i.c.w. the Mondrian House. The concert is a so-called satellite concert of the foundation, which organises annual classical concerts at 't Havik in Amersfoort.

About the composers

Hans Bakker (1945) studied piano, church organ and choral conducting at the Netherlands Institute for Church Music in Utrecht and Sanskrit at the University of Amsterdam. Among other things, he taught at the Centrum voor Kunst en Cultuur in Hilversum, conducted choirs and was active in improvisational music. As a composer, Bakker wrote chamber music, works for choir, carillon, organ and orchestra. His musical style can be described as postmodernist.

Nathan Bonkerk (1994) is a young composer specialising in metal and game audio design, interested in orchestral textures. In his composition, he combines elements from the different worlds and merges them into something new, a style of music that falls outside existing genres. Bonkerk studied Music and Technology at the HKU in Utrecht.

Daan van den Hurk (1987) studied jazz piano, classical piano and composition at the Utrecht Conservatoire. Besides performing and writing concert music, he is a composer for film and has an international career as an accompanist for classical silent films. Van den Hurk is founder and director of the Dutch Silent Film Festival and a lecturer at the HKU Utrecht Conservatory. He works extensively with the Eye Film Museum.

Henry Kelder (1973) is an all-round musician but, above all, a pianist and composer. His music can be described as neo-romantic, cinematic, crossover. Besides his work as principal study piano teacher at the HKU Utrechts Conservatorium, he is director of MatchingArts and a.o. pianist in LUDWIG. During the Corona lockdowns, he put himself on the international map by recording a daily piano piece from his home studio. He studied composition with Amersfoort-born Tristan Keuris and lives in Amersfoort himself.

Anne-Maartje Lemereis (1989) wrote her first song when she was four years old and never stopped thereafter. She studied piano and composition at the Utrechts Conservatorium, where she now works as a teacher. Lemereis has composed for Podium Witteman, Wonderfeel, Lowlands, the Ragazze Quartet and Holland Opera, among others, and has been City Composer of Goes (Zeeland) since June 2022.

Noëmi Schermann (1999) has had a deep urge to make music since childhood. Her dream is to become as broad an educated musician as possible. In 2021, she completed her bachelor's degree in piano in Utrecht and is currently studying choral conducting in Amsterdam. She also composes and in 2020 received the second prize at the Prinses Christina Concours for composers for her composition Bells of Highland. Her compositions can be described as neo-Impressionist.

Devin de Vries (1995) discovered his love for music at an early age. He composed several short piano works and then started writing and producing orchestral music in the computer. This led him to the Composition for Media course at HKU, which he completed in 2018 with honors completed. De Vries currently focuses on various media projects including films, television programmes; s and commercials. His work can be heard in The Moroccan Wedding and B&B Vol Liefde, among others.
