How does culture affect people? How do you feel it? How do you show it? The basic cultural institutions from Amersfoort wanted to answer this together. So they asked filmmaker Bobby Littlejohn to make short videos. With real people, real stories. About watching, participating and making. About what culture gives you. Sometimes big, sometimes small, but always with meaning.
Culture as you and I experience it
Bobby visited performances, classes, concerts and exhibitions at all participating institutions. He looked around, filmed moments and talked to people who had been touched. Then he invited some of them again: in a quiet setting, they told what culture means to them. What it releases. Why they keep coming. This produced recognisable and surprising stories. Young, old, seasoned visitor or someone entering for the first time; everyone experiences culture in their own way. And you see that reflected.
