Donation from American Abstract Artists for Mondrian House

The Mondrian House has received a special donation from the American Abstract Artists. This is a donation of the 75th Anniversary Print Portfolio, which nicely complements the portfolios already present in the museum's collection.

At the Mondrian House, site manager Joyce de la Croix (l.) and collection manager Annegreet van Lierop-Kalteren (m.) received a special donation. On behalf of the American Abstract Artists, Daniel Hill presented the 75th Anniversary Print Portfolio from 2012. This is a nice addition to their 50th and 60th Anniversary Print Portfolio, which are already present in the museum's collection.

American Abstract Artists is an organisation founded in New York in 1936 to promote abstract art and its appreciation in the United States. At a time when abstract art was strongly criticised, the AAA provided exhibition opportunities for abstract artists, contributing to the growth and acceptance of the movement.
Piet Mondrian was a member during his years in New York. Since its inception, AAA has published four printed portfolios (1937, 1987, 1997 and 2012).
