3FM Serious Request is raising money for The Forgotten Child this year. From 18 to 24 December, 3FM DJs Barend van Deelen, Sophie Hijlkema and Rob Janssen will spin 24-hour request records for money from the Glass House in Amersfoort. The Mondrian House supports the action on Sunday evening 18 December.
The Mondrian House is getting into action at the 3FM Serious Request Christmas market. At the museum's stall on Sunday 18 December, visitors can get all creative with red yellow and blue to make their own Mondrian bag. Participants then decide how much they want to pay for the bag. The proceeds will, of course, be for HVK.
At the Mondriaan House stall, visitors are also invited by museum educator Floortje Mols to participate in painting 'The Forgotten Child'. The final result will be donated by the Mondriaan House to the Forgotten Child Foundation.
The Forgotten Child
The Forgotten Child Foundation takes children out of their negative living environment, allowing them to just be children for a while in a pleasant environment. During specially organised activities, trained supervisors shower the children with positive attention, so they feel safe, dare to be themselves and develop. Surrounded by peers, children experience that there are fellow sufferers, making them less ashamed of their home situation.
